Our Catering Manager at HMS, Leanne, made all these fantastic toppers in her own time for the Christmas biscuits last week; everyone thought they looked amazing and enjoyed them greatly!

Mr Barry’s Sports Results: Y7 Football

A huge night for the Year 7 footballers who have already had a busy year and have already finished runners-up twice in County tournaments. Game 1: Game one started with Haydon Bridge the opponent and they started well but two early goals by Taylor Milton either side of a Max Gradwell rocket put us in control.  Sam Davison opened up

Mr Barry’s Sports Results: Y6 Dodgeball

On Thursday afternoon, ten Year 6 students went to compete in the regional dodgeball festival. Our two teams: HMS City captained by Rowan Shreeve, and HMS United captained by Tom Hymers, performed brilliantly. In a festival where they play six mini matches, the pupils were all brilliant with dart-like accuracy from Michael Alderson Brown and Cade John Tait, really impressing

Year 6 Food Tech: Chapatis

Our Year 6 pupils have been learning how to make chapatis in their Food Technology lessons with Miss Kwella throughout November, to link in with the recent Hindu Diwali festival. 

PTA Pop-Up Shop

Our PTA Christmas Pop-Up shop was in full swing this lunchtime! Thank you for all your donations. The Pop-Up shop will be open again tomorrow lunchtime in Fellside Hall.

Tynedale Sports Awards

At the Tynedale Awards on Sunday night it was a fantastic evening in which we had a number of pupils nominated: Last years’  Year 5 and  Year 6 orienteering teams were both nominated after winning the county championships in orienteering. The teams performed extremely well throughout the competition and were deserving of their shortlisting for team of the year. Also nominated

Year 8 Food Styling

Over the last week our Year 8 pupils have been doing some food styling in Food Technology lessons. They had 30 minutes to style and present a Tunnock’s teacake. We had some really good results, shown in the pictures below!    

Hexham Youth Initiative Award

We are delighted that one of our Year 8 pupils, Jake Reader, received a fantastic award from Hexham Youth Initiative last month.  Jake joined Hexham Youth Initiative in September and his award was for his kindness and thoughtfulness towards others, which is mirrored by the support Jake offers to younger pupils in school, especially pupils from Year 5.  Ms Richardson-Clarke

Food Bank Collection

As you will be aware, we have previously run a collection for our local food bank earlier this year. However, we are very aware that some families find Christmas a particularly difficult time and after a parental suggestion we have decided to have another collection. You could donate food items such as: Cereals Crackers/Biscuits Chocolates Beans Rice Tinned stews Tinned
