We would like to draw attention to some of the books in our library that link to February’s focus as LGBTQ+ month.  Many thanks to Miss Hayler-Hughes for reviewing our existing stock. Mandarin Club & Chinese New Year!

Last week, as part of our Chinese New Year celebrations (which takes place on Tuesday 1st February) Mandarin Club pupils have enjoyed learning about and making Chinese dumplings. Holocaust Memorial Day

Last week, on Thursday 27 January, it was Holocaust memorial day. This day marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.  During last week’s assembly (now on our Assemblies webpage), Mr Johnson spoke about the Holocaust as well as genocide throughout history. Supporting reading for all at HMS

We are delighted to announce that over 60 dyslexia-friendly books are now on the shelves in HMS Library. These new books are in a super-readable format and include the following features:  A unique, dyslexia-friendly font to make reading easier. Accessible layouts and spacing to stop the page from becoming overcrowded. Off-white, heavier paper to help reduce visual stress. Shorter books

At HMS, we want to promote greater recycling of school uniform items. To help us build our stocks, we are looking for your support.
