Kev Sutherland Comics Workshop

Last Tuesday afternoon, HMS pupils were visited by Kev F Sutherland, illustrator for Beano and Marvel comics, for an exciting and engaging workshop. Pupils had a wonderful time and produced their own comics and characters. All pupils left with copies and smiles on their faces.

European Xmas Decoration Project & Art Club

Art Club: Warli Tablecloths

KS3 Art Club pupils have made a tablecloth for Hexham Middle School’s Awards Celebration. The pupils worked with Miss Lawton, in the Art Department, on the hand-printed textile which has been inspired by the tribal community in West Indian called the Warli. The Warli pattern is inspired by unity and togetherness. The textile is about all of us at Hexham

Kids’ Lit Quiz

Miss Kingett took a fantastic team of Key Stage 3 pupils to compete in the Kids’ Lit Quiz, held at Gosforth Central Middle School last week. HMS competed against 29 teams from a range of independent and non-independent schools. Year 7 did really well and demonstrated a strong knowledge of many books. They were some of the youngest competitors there.
