Over 150 HMS pupils visited Sunderland Empire to see a fantastic production of ‘War Horse’ yesterday. It was a powerful and moving show and everyone had a great afternoon. Year 7 study ‘War Horse’ as one of the texts in English lessons and this was a wonderful opportunity to enrich their learning. The pupils engaged well and enjoyed this experience!
This week, pupils travelled to Ovingham for the first round of the English Schools Cross Country. This is an individual event with the top 16 qualifying for the next round in January at Temple Park. We are delighted to say that we had fantastic results across both schools with 37 out of 50 students attending going through to the next
Look at what our latest space engineer and astronomer recruits have been up to… Thank you to Rosie from Kielder Observatory who helped to launch our first workshop this week. The way that she answered so many of the space-related questions that our pupils had on the live Teams call was brilliant. Pupils made exoplanet models in our first session.

Our Head Pupils were very proud to represent the school in this year’s Hexham Remembrance Service. It is always such a poignant service and we were delighted to take part alongside friends from St Joseph’s. HMS will mark Remembrance Day with a whole school silence today as well as special assemblies this week. We will remember. #Respect #Engage #Aspire

Cross Country Success What a day our schools have had at the regional round ESAA Cross Country. It was great to see both schools represented so well.
