Year 5 Museum Visit

On Monday, Year 5 visited the Great North Museum as part of their science and humanities curriculum. While there, the children explored a range of historical time periods and different species of animals. They also enjoyed a superb planetarium show and completed a workshop on how space impacts life on Earth. Overall, a great day was had by all and

Pupil Success!

Thank you to Arthur and his friend Euan, who spent a very cold Saturday during the half-term picking up litter in the hedges near their home. The boys were concerned about the litter’s effects on wildlife. Together, they filled a black bin liner!We are very proud of their community spirit and willingness to care for the environment and wildlife.Respect. Engage.

Spring Games 2025

Mr Cameron and the PE team are delighted to announce this year’s Spring Games House Competition. Pupils should come to school in their PE kit on their event days. Pupil Success

On Sunday, Bertie L and Dan M competed in the U10s North East In2 Hockey Tournament at Durham University. They won all of their matches to make it through to the final before being crowned champions of the competition. Well done Bertie and Dan #Respect #Engage #Aspire

At HMS, we are continuing to develop our Key Stage 2 Breaktime Buddies play equipment scheme. We have already invested in lots of wonderful new play equipment for our students to use, and there is more on the way, but we thought we’d ask our lovely parents/carers for donations of items too- just in case anyone has anything at home

Sensory Space

Aspire and National Careers Week

It is Aspire Week at HMS, as well as National Careers Week, and we have lots of different events going on. All week we have different activities for all year groups.  These are being shared with pupils and include, form time careers-related activities, online webinar chats with some key speakers, competitions, and careers quizzes. Pupils can also learn about career
