Year 8 enjoyed a performance from Theatre Space North East this morning focused on road safety. We always enjoy their workshops which deliver important messages as part of our ‘Stay Safe and Well Curriculum’. It is a timely performance as we have been issuing reminders to pupils in assemblies about road safety following some reports of concerning ‘near miss’ incidents
This week it is First Aid Week at HMS. This builds on our offer last year. Our programme this year will focus on Unconscious First Aid for our year 5s. Year 6 and 8 are going to engage with some Mental Health First Aid and our year 7s will explore conscious first aid. We welcome First Aid North East again

Recently we shared a great NHS virtual work experience opportunity as part of National Work Experience Week. Work experience is a valuable component of a young person’s careers education.
