Ski Trip Update 1

A very excited group of pupils met at the airport early on Saturday morning ready for their skiing adventure. The journey started well with a great flight but was delayed by road closures in France. First Aid Week

This week has been ‘First Aid Week’ at HMS and we’re so pleased that we’ve once again been able to offer all pupils in school a first aid workshop as part of their ‘Stay Safe and Well Curriculum’. Mandarin Club Update

This week as part of our celebrations for the Lunar New Year, pupils in Mandarin Club learnt how to make traditional chinese dumplings. They were able to prepare the ingredients and filling then were shown how to fold the dumplings. We quickly learnt that there are many ways to do this. Work Experience

Folk Music

The final folk session was in full-flow this week. HMS students have really enjoyed working with Tom Kimber from Queen’s Hall, learning a variety of folk songs by ear and from sheet music! https://youtu.be/FU_c2v9chnI

Head of School Awards

This month’s Head of School Award theme was ‘aiming high’ – one of our 8 essential skills from ‘Skills Builder’. I was delighted to see the children being recognised for their wonderful approach to school life. It was great to celebrate the positive contribution each pupil makes to our school community – I am very proud of each of them. 

Young Green Briton Challenge Update

We were delighted to welcome Dr Batchelder and visitors from Egger back into school today to lead the ‘Design Sprint’ session today. All of Year 7 are working together in their teams on the next phase of the challenge. Breaktime Buddies

This week, we launched our Breaktime Buddies scheme for Key Stage 2! Our fantastic Year 7 Buddies have been leading the way, introducing a variety of play equipment to KS2 play areas at lunchtime. Lunar New Year
