Year 7 put Friar Lawrence (Romeo & Juliet) on trial, charged with inciting violence in the city of Verona. We followed court procedures and protocols – albeit simplified – and the pupils played their roles beautifully. Standout performances were from Theo T (impeccably organised Court Clerk), Daniel B (cool, calm, and collected as Court Usher), and Ianto T and Sam L (incredibly convincing as Prosecution – poor Friar Lawrence had no chance!). Special mention to Daisy H, Rosie O, Duncan G, and Monty C for being good sports and wearing costume without complaint – they’re very tolerant of my ways!
