Rugby Success!

Two teams competed in the NSB Rugby 7s last week. The competitions were based around participation and demonstrating the core values of rugby: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

On Thursday, the Year 8 team won one of their games and were only narrowly defeated by some strong rugby teams. The boys were excellent throughout and demonstrated some excellent attacking rugby. Charlie M finished with the most tries, with Benson H and Nicholas Y also contributing with a few tries themselves.
On Friday, the Year 7 team managed to win one, draw one and lost a couple of close battles with some big rugby schools. Rory A finished as the top try scorer, with Daniel B-M, Charlie P and Sinjin R also chipping in. The boys were super impressive in their efforts, and they were recognised by other schools as a strong team whilst also being awarded the ‘Sportsmanship’ award (as voted for by other participating schools). This demonstrates the excellent attitude the team has as well as their rugby skill.
A huge well done to both teams, who represented the school with pride. These boys have a bright future in rugby!
