Cross Country Update

This week, pupils travelled to Ovingham for the first round of the English Schools Cross Country. This is an individual event with the top 16 qualifying for the next round in January at Temple Park. We are delighted to say that we had fantastic results across both schools with 37 out of 50 students attending going through to the next round. All of our students were a credit to the school, ran hard and should be very proud of themselves – we certainly are!

In the Minor Girls’ (Y7), Kirstie A had a very strong run to finish 4th, followed by Aurelia K (10th), Tilly C (11th) and Lizzie L (13th). The Minor Boys’ race was dominated by Monty who was a clear winner. Other qualifiers in this event were Ivor T (5th), Rory A (10th), Jacob A(12th), Bertie T (15th) and Walt Mc (16th).

The junior boys and girls races are a Y8/9 event. In the boys’ race across HMS and QEHS, we filled 12 of the 16 qualifying spaces which was a huge achievement. Huge congratulations to those Year 8 students who qualified with another year in that age group. They are Annabelle M (12th), Ossie D (10th), Charlie M (11th) Nicholas Y (12th), Tyler B (16th)

Well done to all involved – a very proud day!
