Grace Kirby led a pre-performance workshop exploring the themes within the classic Victorian short story that year 7 pupils have read in their English lessons. Themes within the play include the role of women, the significance of colonialism and the role of the outside through the representation of the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller (GRT) community.
This session started off with some playful exercises followed by small group work. The practical workshop encouraged pupils to share their work and approach the story from a 21st Century viewpoint.
