First sporting competition of the year for Hexham Middle School!
Eight pupils from HMS competed at the ESSKIA Dry Ski slope regional round. The pupils were a mixture of regular club competitors who ski at Silksworth, Sunderland, and some keen skiers who helped HMS have full teams.
The great news from the competition is that our boys’ team has qualified for the National round which will be held in Norfolk, a county not known for hills! The girls’ team performed equally well in their competition. Unfortunately, because the competition requires you to record two ski run times through the poles, this proved harder for the less experienced skiers on their first experience of skiing on the plastic dry slope.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, to all the parents for their support and to Oscar’s and Samuel’s mum for coordinating things on the day.
