Welcome to the summer term!
We hope you have all had a fantastic Easter break and managed to enjoy some time outdoors (despite the often wintry weather!). HMS continues to be a vibrant and exciting place to learn, and we are delighted that our extra-curricular provision was able to re-start before Easter. We are also looking forward to enjoying more sporting events this term. Please do encourage your child to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities and to try something new!
Arrangements for life in school remain the same as before Easter with an emphasis on good hand hygiene and following our safety measures. KS3 pupils are asked to continue wearing face coverings as they were before the holiday (this will be reviewed again by the Government in May). Staff and children in KS3 will also continue to take lateral flow tests at home twice a week – thank you for your ongoing support.
The school diary is already looking busy for this term and we are so excited for what lies ahead. Our staff are continuing to work exceptionally hard to provide the very best classroom experience for all of our pupils and are so pleased to have everyone back together. We are also really looking forward to meeting the year 4 children who will be joining us in September and for preparing our year 8 pupils for their move to high school. We are all so excited that we are now very busy preparing for our move to our new school in September 2021 – we will keep you and the children up to date along the way with developments.
Finally, our chicks have returned to school following their Easter holiday at Mrs Curry’s farm and year 5 will be caring for them and choosing their names in the coming days. Happy new term everyone!
