After a busy weekend of sport we have had some huge success on the football and rugby pitches!
On Saturday, five HMS boys were in action for the West Tyne District team in their 5-2 victory over Redcar and Cleveland. James Simpson, Alex Martin, David Dodd, Sam Clarke and scorer of the 4th goal Josh Ritchie all played brilliantly! Well done boys.
Sunday was the Newcastle Thunder Introductory Festival and saw HMS go up against three other schools from across the North East in their first ever tournament. For players such as Charlie Shaw and Tyler Jefferson it was their first time representing school. A 3-3 draw in Game 1 got us off to a great start, another draw, this time 2-2, in Game 2 was a nail-biting encounter. Game 3 was sensational against Parkside School; HMS came out 4-3 winners to end the day undefeated and getting better each and every game! Brilliant first run out for the boys!
After the game all of the boys were mascots walking out of the tunnel with the players and were ball boys for the match! A fantastic experience; a huge thank you to Newcastle Thunder for the experience! Thank you to all the parents/carers for their support.
