Peter J Murray visited HMS recently to introduce us to his new book Poppy Warrior. The story is about a computer game-obsessed boy and his twin sister who begin to experience spooky coincidences when they start at a new school. Eventually, they make links to their past and realise they must stand brave, facing the real life horror of World War 1…
All pupils took part in the author presentation on 30 September and many chose to attend a book signing in Beaumont Library the following day. Many thanks to Pete and his wife Kath who continue to inspire our pupils to further develop their love of reading.
Our thanks also go to the school’s PTA who kindly covered the cost of Pete’s presentation, meaning all pupils were involved and enthused by his work.
Pete also wrote about his visit on his blog, which can be found at http://peterjmurray.co.uk/wordpress/2019/10/popppy-warrior-invades-hexham/?fbclid=IwAR36zPpz4TTMMMEPlBwH9q6MM-HO17faAxPFAoV0YvsVbQwncIcAhPZyu78
