Year 7 Boys Rugby League: Champions Cup
The boys were in Champions Cup action today with the aim of qualifying for the regional final. To do that they had to beat John Spence, Seaton Sluice and Whitrigg.
Up first were Whitrigg and thanks to tries from Charlie C (x2) and Will HA HMS ran out 3–1 winners. The moment of the match came when Adam W chased the length of the pitch to deny an equalizing try! Sensational stuff!
Up next were John Spence: a Will HA try put HMS 1–0 up and they then had to defend 28 consecutive tackles to see out the game! Moment of the match came when a diving Lucas N brought down the biggest player on the pitch!
Finally HMS played against Seaton Sluice. A length of the field effort from Harry W was doubled by a Will HA effort shortly after. Player of the tournament Charlie C sealed the game late on making it 3–1 to HMS!
The boys are now through to the North East finals day where they need to beat a team from Sunderland at Kingston Park in order to represent the North East in the National Finals!
A huge well done to all of the boys!
