HMS were in action in the ESAA Schools Cup for track and field this week. The weather forecast was for heavy rain but thankfully we completed the competition in only light showers. HMS had a Junior Boys and a Junior Girls team competing. In this competition, individual times and distances are converted into points to become a team total.
Highest scoring girls on the day were Isla M 200m, Beth N 800m and Shot, Winnie L 800m, Emilia S 1500m and Maise H Shot. The girls came 8th out of 11 teams with a team total of 186 points. The highest scoring boys were Harry C 200m, George H 800m, Noah A 1500m, Wilfred P 1500m and Billy B 800m. The boys were placed a solid 6th out of 10 teams with a team total of 183.
This was a great start to the upcoming athletics events. Mrs Southern and Mr Gaines were delighted with the effort and conduct of the HMS athletes. We look forward to more success as the summer progresses.
