Tyne Rivers Trust visited HMS last week to deliver a workshop about rivers tying in with the year 6’s current geography topic. They brought an interactive river model which showed different rivers around the North-East region. The year 6 pupils enjoyed learning about different strategies that the Tyne Rivers Trust use to monitor and reduce the flow of the river to protect landscapes, species and surrounding areas. The pupils enjoyed swapping parts of the landscape and sharing their knowledge of rivers with the visitors.
