Pupils from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Haydon Bridge High School to participate in a cross-country running event today. They were an absolute credit to HMS, and we are all extremely proud of their efforts today.
The Year 6 girls started us off on an extremely muddy field and did themselves proud. The Year 6 boys paced themselves well, which put them into some promising positioning by the halfway point which resulted in Ossie D and Charlie M coming 4th and 5th respectively. Year 5 girls were ready to meet the high standards set by the Year 6 pupils. Kirstie A finished in 1st place and Aurelia K finished 3rd – outstanding all round! Year 5 boys finished the morning by putting in an outstanding performance with Monty C and Rory A finishing in 1st and 2nd respectively.
Overall, it was a great morning for all involved – Mr. Nichol and Mrs Southern were extremely impressed with the maturity, respect and engagement that our KS2 pupils demonstrated today.
